Roberto Firmino has now informed Jurgen Klopp that he will leave Anfield at the end of his contract. The Brazilian has opted to leave after Liverpool warned him about his game time.
That is according to 90min, which reports Firmino has decided to call time on his Liverpool career this summer. His contract will expire on June 30 and while Klopp wanted the striker to stay, he has elected to embark on a new adventure. The Reds also respect his decision.
Liverpool held talks with Firmino over a new contract after Klopp stated his desire to retain the 31-year-old. But Anfield chiefs made it clear during their negotiations that he would be some way down the pecking order. So, the striker decided it is the time they part company.

Firmino has based his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract purely down to his potential playing time. Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg first reported that he had also personally informed Klopp of his decision to leave the Merseyside club this Friday.
Expectations that Liverpool would renew Firmino’s contract were on the rise as he has had an important role this season. Klopp has started the 55-cap Brazil international in 16 of his 25 appearances so far. He has also scored nine and assisted four goals in all competitions.

Firmino to leave Liverpool as the Reds told the Brazilian he will struggle for games
Only Mohamed Salah (20) and Darwin Nunez (12) have outscored Firmino so far this term. Although Firmino has only scored once over his last 10 Premier League appearances and is yet to strike in 2023. He also missed six top-flight games due to injury after the World Cup.
Plus with Nunez, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz also in Klopp’s side, Liverpool feel Firmino will struggle to gain regular minutes if he signed a new contract. So, the striker will leave Anfield – eight years and many trophies after joining for £29m from TSG Hoffenheim.
