Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly not given up on signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Liverpool have had a second bid for Romeo Lavia rejected by Southampton.

Liverpool had an initial £35 million offer for Lavia turned down.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have now made another bid.

It is worth £42 million including add-ons.

Southampton, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League, have turned it down too.

The Saints want £50 million for Lavia, according to 90min.

The report has added that despite having two bids for Lavia turned down, Liverpool remain interested in the former Manchester City prospect and “are expected to return with an improved bid in the near future”.

Liverpool have to pay £50m for Southampton star Romeo Lavia

In our opinion, Liverpool will have to pay £50 million for Southampton defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia in the summer transfer window.

Southampton are not ready to sell the 19-year-old for £42 million.

The message to Liverpool is clear.

The Merseyside club will simply have to cough up £50 million in transfer fees if they are to bring Lavia to Anfield this summer.

And, in our view, they should just pay it now.

The new Premier League season will get underway soon.

There is no point in Liverpool wasting time by making any more bids below the asking price.

The Reds need to step up their pursuit of Lavia and pay the £50 million that Southampton are demanding.

Lavia has made 29 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The teenager is just starting his career, and he could develop into a superb player under manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
