West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is said to be keen to snap up Gonzalo Higuain

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham United’s striker search has led them to Gonzalo Higuain.
West Ham have been chasing a new front man for much of the summer so far, and Manuel Pellegrini’s need for a new striker has been increased by Marko Arnautovic’s departure.
West Ham have been chasing a number of targets, and Higuain is the latest name said to be on the Hammers’ wishlist.
Higuain endured a difficult spell with Chelsea last season, after arriving in January, and never really making an impact in the Premier League.
But Pellegrini has worked with the striker before at Real Madrid, and could reportedly look for a reunion at West Ham.
On the face of it, the transfer of the Argentine doesn’t look a particularly exciting one at West Ham.
But Hammers supporters may be more enthused over the addition after reading Lionel Messi’s opinion on his international teammate.

“He is suffering for the national team, but he must be in it,” Messi said to One Football just two years ago.
“For me he is one of the best number nines in the world. He demonstrates this every weekend at Juventus but does not play the same with Argentina.”
Despite the claims in Italy, it would still be a shock if West Ham did go for Higuain.
The forward looked out of sorts in the Premier League last term and, given his costly wages, it would be a risky addition for West Ham to make.
