RMC Sport have claimed that Tottenham are interested in signing Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma this summer.
The Frenchman has had a decent season at Chelsea but he is expected to available in this summer’s transfer window.
Mourinho knows Zouma very well. The current Spurs boss played the Frenchman when he was just 19 but the two had their arguments from time to time.
Zouma revealed a story three months ago about what Mourinho told him after a disastrous game for Chelsea.
He was quoted by Goal saying: I cannot remember which match we were playing, we were losing 3-1, away from home. The following day, he [Mourinho] catches up with me, he takes me to his office, and he asks me if I am ok. I said yes, he asked me if I was sure.”
“I said yes again, he replied ‘Because you were rubbish this weekend.’ Like that, direct. It shocked me, but it made me want to immediately respond on the pitch. I remember that it hurt me, that it affected me. But I really wanted to show him that I could react.”
Mourinho has never been afraid to have a go at his players, both privately as well as in front of the media.
However, the Portuguese boss is a serial winner and his antics in front of the media might just be one of the secrets behind his success.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham and Chelsea can agree a deal for Zouma this summer. The Frenchman has had a decent couple of seasons in the Premier League and a move to Spurs makes a lot of sense.
With Jan Vertonghen possibly leaving soon, Zouma will get opportunities to play, and he, on his day, is much better than Davinson Sanchez is at Spurs.
Zouma still has over three years left on his contract. Chelsea will make it difficult for Tottenham in this current financial climate but a call from Mourinho could tempt the Frenchman to force a deal through this summer.
