Jordan Spieth hasn’t looked this good in a number of years.

He’s not been able to string together four rounds yet this season, but every single area of his game has looked incredible at one point or another.

Spieth said before the season that he feels healthier than he has felt in a long, long time, and that’s clear to see with the confidence that he’s swinging the club with.

The American was left out of Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup team, but he told the new captain, Jim Furyk, where he thinks his game is at at the midway point of the season.

Jordan Spieth told Jim Furyk that his game feels good

The 2027 US Ryder Cup captain Furyk caught up with Spieth at Muirfield Village ahead of the Memorial Tournament. He asked him how his game feels at the moment, and Spieth gave a really encouraging answer.

Spieth said on the PGA Tour’s socials, “Everything is good. Every part of my game at one point or another has been as good as it’s ever been this year. And I just got to put it all together.

“I’m trying to stay in front of the fades a little bit. I’m working on the delivery on shots like I just hit right there.

“When I’m trying to pin over to the right, I’m lined up left, not to give in to them, keep my hands nice and low as you do so well.”

It sounds like Spieth is tweaking his game, rather than soul searching as he has for the last few seasons. That’s a great sign. It feels like he’s so close.

Jordan Spieth explains why the Memorial Tournament feels like a major

The Memorial Tournament is one of the best events on the PGA Tour calendar. Played at Jack’s House, all the best players in the world come out to pay homage to the great Jack Nicklaus, making the event feel truly important.

And because Muirfield Village is always kept in pristine condition, and because the course is so challenging, Spieth said that the event has a major championship feel.

He told Furyk, “I got here on Sunday early this year, and I was the only one practising Sunday afternoon, and it was like a dream.

“I wouldn’t hit more than five putts in the same location because I felt so bad, they were the best putting surfaces I have ever seen in my life.

“I knew that I’d have unbelievable facilities here, and so my whole family comes to just get settled in, little extra time, and then honestly approach it like a major, because it plays like a major. It’s the closest we get to one.”

Muirfield Village is maintained in a way that is fitting to Nicklaus’ legacy, and it feels like the perfect test to prepare the players for the upcoming US Open.
