Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is an avid golfer and is frequently seen mixing it up with professionals.

Tom Holland is a familiar face at many pro-ams before professional tournaments, and with a golf handicap of three, he has partnered up with some of the greatest players in the game.

He’s not a familiar face for every golfer, however, as he once introduced himself to Rory McIlroy on the driving range, only for McIlroy to seemingly have no idea who he was. Awkward.

Although he didn’t go completely unrecognized, as Tommy Fleetwood introduced his son, Frankie, to Holland, while he was dressed as Spider-Man. Frankie, not Tom.

At the very same event, Holland was partnered with 2023 Masters winner Jon Rahm, who did something during his round that left the actor completely gobsmacked.

What Jon Rahm did during a pro-am that shocked Tom Holland

Holland was paired with Rahm at the 2023 BMW Championship pro-am, held ahead of the main tournament at Wentworth. The amateurs featured a star-studded cast, including Gareth Bale, Stuart Broad, and Holland.

When the two-time major winner took a tee shot on Wednesday morning, Holland was visibly taken by just how good a ball striker Rahm is.

On the DP World Tour’s social media, there is a video of him taking a tee shot, before the camera pans over to Holland, whose jaw dropped to the floor.

The video of the Spider-Man actor’s reaction is captioned, “Tom Holland is all of us when Jon Rahm hits driver.”

However, Holland did get his own back on Rahm.

What happened when Tom Holland and Jon Rahm hit a persimmon driver

During the event, Holland was gifted a custom Spider-Man wooden persimmon driver. It was a stunning-looking homemade club, with a Spider-Man logo engraved on the bottom and a web carved into the club’s face.

Holland immediately wanted to hit it, and stepped up to the tee box using a club that is notoriously difficult to strike. All in all, he did pretty well, with his drive fading (or perhaps slicing) right of the fairway.

Then Rahm tried his hand, looking to show his playing partner how it’s really done. But Rahm’s drive sliced too, leading to shouts of “fore right!” from the galleries.

“I tell you what, I’d take mine”, joked Holland after he’d outdriven Rahm!
