Aston Villa are said to be interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Daily Mail have reported how John Terry sent Jack Wilshere a shirt, wishing for the opportunity to play alongside the midfielder week in week out last season.

Following Chelsea’s match with Bournemouth last term, Terry sent Wilshere a shirt with a message complementing the Arsenal man.

And it seems that Terry may now have a chance of getting his wish at Aston Villa.

The Daily Mirror have reported today that Villa have made enquiries over the availability of Wilshere.

Arsenal are believed to be willing to part company with the England international, with Arsene Wenger deeming him to be surplus to requirements.

Villa have work to do if they are to persuade Wilshere that a move to the Championship would be a wise option.

But Terry may well be hoping that Wilshere does take complete a switch to Villa, as he will finally get the opportunity to team up with the talented midfielder.

Villa have begun their season by failing to win either of their first two matches, and Steve Bruce is thought to want more quality to ensure his side are not set for another disappointing campaign at Championship level.
