Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Joe Hart this summer.

John Ruddy told the Independent back in 2013 that he thought Joe Hart was one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and the quotes are interesting again now that the Manchester City man has been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Daily Mirror claim that Hart is a target of Wolves this summer, as Nuno’s side look to add more competition.

Ruddy is no stranger to battling with Hart for a place, as the pair used to be rivals for a spot in goal for England.

And during the time that the pair played together at international level, Hart earned the respect of Wolves’ current stopper.

“He’s a top-drawer goalkeeper, one of the best in the world without a shadow of a doubt,” Ruddy said.

Hart is now thought to be a target of Wolves, even though his reputation has taken a dip.

Hart has struggled over the past two seasons, with England, Torino and West Ham United.

The experienced stopper has not even been included in England’s World Cup squad for this summer, with Gareth Southgate favouring other options.

Hart, therefore, would arrive at Wolves with a point to prove and could offer good competition to Ruddy in the battle to be the number one at Molineux next term.
