The Golden State Warriors already seem ready to move on from Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler became a member of the Golden State Warriors during the 2024-25 NBA season following a huge fallout with the Miami Heat.

Since the Warriors have traded for Butler, the franchise has benefited from it, but the rumor mill is buzzing with the franchise actively looking to offload the 36-year-old this offseason.

Chris Haynes reveals Jimmy Butler’s stance on trade away from Golden State Warriors

Despite Butler averaging 19.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game in a Warriors jersey, what could be the reason for potentially trading him?

Well, it’s the prospect of potentially getting a superstar like Anthony Davis from the Washington Wizards. However, according to Chris Haynes, Butler’s camp do not believe that the organization will trade him.

While Butler may be five years younger than James, the King is still objectively a better player than the former Heat star. The biggest reason behind it is James taking extremely good care of his body.

Jimmy Butler is recovering from a torn ACL injury

In January 2026, Butler’s Warriors career hit a massive obstacle in the form of a torn ACL injury, as his season was instantly over.

The Warriors certainly missed Butler’s presence on the court as the organization finished with a terrible 37-45 record in the regular season.

Additionally, recovering from an ACL injury always comes with its own risks, and when Butler returns, he may never be the player he once was.

Combining that with his age, it’s only sensible to get rid of Butler’s hefty contract as soon as possible, albeit in favor of an injury-prone star like Davis.
