England have been using Tottenham Hotspur’s high-end facilities for quite a while now to prepare for matches, even if they aren’t using the stadium for actual games.
In previous times, James Maddison has always used Tottenham’s training ground or complex as a Leicester City player.
But, of course, now he just isn’t a Spurs player, but one of the club’s main performers following his summer transfer.
The 26-year-old couldn’t hide his excitement at using Tottenham’s training ground complex during these past few days, with Gareth Southgate’s side preparing for their Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on Tuesday night at Wembley.
England’s official YouTube channel provided inside access to the players’ preparation, including build-up and post-match reaction to the 1-0 friendly win over Australia.
James Maddison was seen entering the Spurs complex, bags in hand and with the biggest smile on his face, as the camera caught him saying, ‘some gaff this is, isn’t it,’.

James Maddison to start against Italy?
Gareth Southgate made a number of changes for the 1-0 win over Australia, with the big hitters, including the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice, all rested.
Given that Maddison started on Friday, then it probably hints towards the playmaker starting from the bench against the European champions.
But, in truth, it would be great to see him start tonight because a midfield three of Maddison-Rice-Bellingham, would be a joy to watch.
