The Hammers have held talks with the free agent and are keen to sign him, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports.
West Ham under new manager Manuel Pellegrini, are reportedly keen on the 26-year-old midfielder after he left Arsenal on July 1.

That followed talks with new Gunners boss Unai Emery who reportedly told Wilshere his game time would be “significantly reduced” if he chose to remain at the Emirates.
West Ham fans are excited at the prospect of signing the boyhood Hammer.
And any doubts that the midfielder is claret and blue through and through can be dispelled by an interview Wilshere gave to Premier League World while on loan at Bournemouth.
A video of the interview where he discusses growing up as a West Ham fan and his Hammers heroes has been widely shared by fans on social media after reports the club were in for him.
And supporters will like what he had to say.

“Growing up as a West Ham fan, there was a couple (of players I looked up to) in that team,” Wilshere told Premier League World.
“You know Joe Cole was one of mine (heroes), he started at a young age and you know he was a skilful player.
“And also one was Paolo Di Canio, I think every West Ham fan loved him, he scored some great goals and there were some great moments he had in a West Ham shirt so probably him (if I had to pick one).”
