Speaking on the Red Agenda Podcast, Simon Hughes has shared what he’s heard about Liverpool’s transfer plans this summer.
The Reds look as though they may have something big lined up this summer, and the journalist claims that their number one priority is to bring in a new attacker.
With Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane not hitting the heights they’ve been known to hit in recent years, it’s not too surprising to hear this.
“From what I’ve been told, that’s something that Liverpool are looking at in the summer [signing an attacker], the one area they do want to improve on. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did find a buyer for (Divock) Origi and another forward came in,” Hughes said.
“It’ll be interesting to see who they go for.”

This is certainly an interesting update.
Liverpool’s biggest problems this season have been at centre-back, but we all know that those issues have largely been down to injuries.
However, there have also been issues in attack, and while Diogo Jota has come in and made up for Firmino and Mane’s underperformance, the Reds could probably do with another top-class forward to come in.
There’ve been some mind-blowing rumours about the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland coming to Anfield this summer.
Whether or not either of those blockbuster deals get over the line remains to be seen, but it seems as though the Merseyside outfit will have a new attacker coming in for next season.
