Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has shared his feelings about Ruben Neves’ comments after Arsenal beat Wolves last week.
The Gunners earned three points against the Midlands club last Thursday, and understandably, the London outfit were over the moon with their win.
Arsenal came through a very tough game away from home, and despite the fact Gabriel Martinelli was sent off, they managed to get the win.
However, while Arsenal’s win was brilliant, Ruben Neves criticised the Gunners’ players for what he perceived to be an over-celebration after the game.
Wright wasn’t best pleased with Neves’ comments, claiming that Arsenal had every right to be buzzing with their victory.
What’s been said?
The pundit made his feelings on Neves’ comments very clear.
“Even when we did play and we beat Wolves, and we went down to 10 men. I was vexed with Neves when he said ‘look at how Arsenal are celebrating.’ What is wrong with you? That’s an unbelievable result for Arsenal the way that Wolves have been playing. 1-0 away from home with 10 men, that is cause for celebration,” Wright said.

Bitter
We can absolutely understand why Wright is unhappy with Neves’ comments.
Why should Arsenal not celebrate a hard-fought win like that? Of course, it wasn’t a cup final, but it was a huge victory and one that Arsenal may well reflect on in months to come.
With all due respect, Arsenal haven’t been able to celebrate wins like this very often in recent years, so they should soak it all in when they do get a brilliant result away from home with 10 men.
Neves came across as bitter with his comments, and after losing a game in that fashion, we can understand why.
