West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Scotland U-20 goalkeeper Brian Kinnear.
The club announced on their official website that the former Rangers shot-stopper will join the east London side after a successful trial. Kinnear will join up with West Ham’s U-23 side.
The 20-year-old was a member of Steven Gerrard’s UEFA Europa League squad last season. However, all of Kinnear’s football came in the form of youth level.
But in an interview with West Ham’s official website, Kinnear sounded eager to immediately break into Dmitri Halajko’s side.
The Scottish youngster said: “I’m really happy to be here, I’ve been on trial for a bit and I’m just happy to get it over the line and I can’t wait to get started.
Kinnear later added with: “I’m really looking forward to it. The goalies you’ve got here are world-class and I’m hoping I get the opportunity to go around and train with them and see how they do it.”

Indeed, the Scotsman could become West Ham’s fifth first-team keeper this season should circumstances present themselves. And on social media, Irons’ supporters were amazed that had signed another shot-stopper.
Indeed, with Nathan Trott out on loan in France, the U-23s are in need of back-up in the position.
But some fans on social media could see the funny side of West Ham signing yet another goalkeeper.
Here’s what fans had to say on Twitter about Kinnear’s arrival to the east London side…
