The Golden Foot is an award handed out to footballers for their achievements, both individually and collectively, which has been in place since 2003.

Additionally, a candidate’s personality is also taken into account when deciding if he is a worthy winner.

Players aged 28 or above are eligible to win the award, and can only be won once.

Furthermore, only 10 nominees are selected, as a panel of international journalists decide the winner.

An online poll is also conducted to decide the potential winner of the award, where even fans can vote.

A charity also takes place accompanied by the Golden Foot award.

The Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo is where an auction is organised, where funds are raised for fighting against AIDS.

The winner of the Golden Foot, which is Robert Lewandowski in this case also has to plant their footsteps onto “The Champions of Promenade”, which is in Monaco, France.
