Tottenham Hotspur have posted a video of Japhet Tanganga blocking a shot from Aston Villa attacking midfielder Ross Barkley, which has led to some fans questioning the effort from Moussa Sissoko.

Spurs got the better of Villa 2-0 away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Tanganga started the match at right-back and had a very good game, and as the following clip shows, he blocked a fierce effort from Barkley, currently on loan from Chelsea.

While some Tottenham fans were appreciative of Tanganga, they also pointed out that Sissoko should have done much better in that situation.

The 31-year-old France international midfielder came on as a substitute for Tanguy Ndombele in the 81st minute.

Tottenham’s performance against Villa was much better than those against Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb, and head coach Jose Mourinho will surely be happy with his players.

Spurs now need to build on the win, and with no Europa League football for them this season, they can fully concentre finishing in the Premier League top four and winning the EFL Cup.
