Arsenal are in talks with Atletico Madrid and super-agent Jorge Mendes over a deal to sign Joao Felix in January. Their interest has sparked many to wonder what his middle name is.
Felix, 23, has been on the scene for the past four years since breaking through at Benfica in 2018. But the forward has often struggled to live up to a £113m price tag since leaving the Portuguese club for Atletico Madrid in 2019. It is the third-most expensive deal of all time.

Now, though, Mikel Arteta is exploring taking Felix from La Liga to the Premier League over the winter sales. The Gunners boss is keen on the Colchoneros attacker after losing his star striker Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury. He could miss up to four months after having surgery.

So, with Jesus now set to miss a large part of the season, Arsenal are interested in signing Felix from Atletico Madrid. Duncan Castles has reported in the Daily Record that talks are also underway between the Gunners and the Colchoneros over a loan move come January.
Atletico Madrid are only interested in Felix leaving the Metropolitano on a temporary basis in the winter sales. The La Liga side will also demand an £8m loan fee for the remainder of the season. Colchoneros chiefs further want the Portugal star’s wages to be paid for in full.

Talks between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid regarding Felix’s move are at a more advanced stage than those by Manchester United. The Red Devils are also exploring the 28-cap ace’s situation after releasing, Cristiano Ronaldo. They featured together at the 2022 World Cup.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are also in talks with Felix’s agent, Mendes, over his switch from Atletico Madrid. The Gunners have further sought to sound out the conditions for a permanent transfer. But Arteta’s outfit is unlikely to move for over €100m (£88.5m).
Profile of Joao Felix and case behind the forward’s middle name
So, with Arsenal in talks with Atletico Madrid and Mendes over Arteta’s interest in Felix, it has sparked many supporters to wonder what the Portugal forward’s middle name is. But he does not actually have any middle names. Instead, his full name stems from his parents.
The Colchoneros forward is the child of his mother, Carla Felix, and father, Carlos Sequeira. So, his name features each of their surnames but Joao is only commonly referred to by his mother’s. It is the same with his 18-year-old brother, Hugo, who is in Benfica’s Under-23s.

So, while Felix does not have a middle name, who is the Atletico Madrid ace Arsenal want?
