Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Graeme Souness were critical of Rasmus Kristensen for ’sleeping’ whilst trying to defend Mo Salah’s goal for Liverpool against Leeds United on Saturday.
The Egypt winger knocked the ball into the back of the net after ghosting into the middle of the penalty area following a cross from Andy Robertson and Hasselbaink shared how the Leeds right-back just let his man go.
That was less of a costly error than the one Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker made because his backpass was pounced on by the alert Rodrigo, who opened the scoring at Anfield after five minutes.

When Salah equalised less than ten minutes later, many Leeds fans, given their current situation and no Premier League win since August, probably would have been happy to walk away with a draw.
It also needs to be remembered that Liverpool hadn’t lost a home league game on Merseyside for the past 30 occasions, but that didn’t stop youngster Crysencio Summerville from scoring a dramatic late winner.
Nonetheless, when discussing the defending for Liverpool’s goal, both Hasselbaink and Souness were critical of Kristensen’s mistake, as they told Sky Sports Premier League (29/10/22 at 8:40 pm).
“What is Kristensen doing there,” asked Hasselbaink to which Souness responded, “He has just gone to sleep.”
Hasselbaink then added: “He is attached to Salah. He runs in because he knows where he is going to score. Kristensen then lets him go.”

THE TURNING POINT FOR MARSCH
Things were going from bad to worse from Marsch in recent weeks, but this dramatic win could be game-changing for Leeds’ season.
On a number of occasions, they have created enough chances to win matches, but they have just been too easy to play against.
But with only a few weeks left until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, perhaps the Yorkshire side can end these last few games in a positive fashion.
