Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has made some intriguing claims regarding Arnaut Danjuma’s move to Tottenham.
According to whispers heard by Sheth, Danjuma had actually trained with Everton before ultimately snubbing them to join the North London club.
It was reported that Danjuma had agreed to join Everton, but the deal fell apart after they sacked Frank Lampard as their manager. This opened the door for Tottenham to swoop in and hijack the deal – announcing that they had agreed a loan move on Wednesday.
It’s unclear why Danjuma ultimately decided not to join Everton, but you can’t help but wonder if the training sessions didn’t live up to his expectations. One can only imagine how bad Everton must have been in training to scare Danjuma off.

Danjuma may have trained with Everton
Sheth shared what he’s heard on this situation.
“Rumours started emerging that he was either late or he wasn’t turning up. It got to the point where he’d agreed to join and that he was about to do his medical. There were even rumours he’d done the media. There was also talk that he was training with them, like, what is going on here? All of this was going on and then bang, from out of nowhere there was Danjuma at Tottenham now,” Sheth said.
Where do Everton go now?
Missing out on Danjuma is a huge blow, but the question is now, where will they turn next?
It’s understandable why Danjuma made the decision he did. Everton are in a dire position at the moment, while a switch to Tottenham represents a great opportunity for him to play in the Champions League and under a manager like Antonio Conte who could help him develop his tactical understanding of the game..
This is a big loss for Everton who are in need of a player like Danjuma. They have been struggling in the league and need to bring in some fresh attacking talent to improve their frontline.
It will be interesting to see how they respond to this setback and if they will make a move for a similar player in the coming days as the transfer window is still open, but time is running out.
