Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club’s official site confirmed the departure of Ruben Vinagre to Olympiacos on a season-long loan deal.

The Greek giants have an option to buy the Portuguese defender on a permanent basis next summer, with The Express and Star revealing that this clause is worth £22.5 million.

Vinagre departs Molineux after Nuno Espirito Santo signed promising Frenchman Rayan Aït-Nouri to compete for the left wing-back spot.

Jonny Otto and Marcal – another new signing – also help provide ample depth for that role, even after Vinagre’s exit.

The 21-year-old has made 70 appearances for the Midlands-based outfit after initially arriving on loan from Monaco in 2017, scoring three goals and assisting two more.

He helped Nuno’s side get out of the Championship, and has contributed to their fine form in England’s top-flight ever since.

However, he has never really been able to oust Jonny from the left wing-back role during Wolves’ time back in the Premier League.

Should he do well enough to convince Olympiacos to part with the aforementioned £22.5 million, then we will have already seen the Charneca da Caparica-born defender’s last appearance in a Wolves shirt.

Let’s see how the Wolves fans on Twitter reacted to his departure…
