Some Sheffield United fans are reacting to reports that suggest Arsenal could still be keen on Sander Berge.

The Norwegian outlet VG claims that Arsenal were ‘very interested’ in signing Berge before United secured his services in January.

And it adds that their interest ‘has definitely not been harmed by his achievements in recent months’.

Berge has been arguably the Blades’ standout performer in an albeit disappointing campaign.

And while some of a Sheffield United persuasion are, perhaps rightly, demanding that Arsenal pay full whack if they are indeed serious about the 22-year-old – others are resigned to him leaving given their current situation.

United are reported to have paid Genk a then club-record £22 million for Berge.

And any suitors of the Norwegian can perhaps expect to pay a significant amount more than that if they are to lure him away from Bramall Lane.

Arsenal spent £45m on another midfielder Thomas Partey in the summer transfer window, but could lose Dani Ceballos from the pair’s position at the end of his loan spell.

Sheffield United fans – could Berge cut it at Arsenal?
