Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager is likely to be someone in work, Alasdair Gold has suggested on his Youtube channel.
Tottenham have now taken weeks to appoint a new boss since Jose Mourinho’s departure.
The length of time the process has taken has frustrated some Spurs fans, especially after there were rumours that they wanted to make an appointment before the end of the season.
However, Tottenham have experienced difficulties in the process of finding their next manager, namely because the main candidates for the job are in work.
That is interesting as it seemingly rules out the likes of Hansi Flick or Ralph Ragnick, who have been heavily linked.
It does, though, suggest that the likes of Erik ten Hag, Graham Potter or Roberto Martinez could be the man at the top of Tottenham’s shortlist, as they are all currently employed.
And Gold’s latest update dropped further information over who Tottenham’s next boss could be.

“We’re getting there. What I would say is that the club’s original intention, I was made aware, is that they wanted to announce one before the end of the season,” he said.
“As I said in recent weeks that was a hope that unfortunately with reality and with all the fall out with the Super League has become less and less realistic.
“What I understand is that the main candidates for the role are currently employed by other clubs.
“Any talks that have taken place so far will have been over Zoom.
“From the end of the season they can talk to people face to face – once the season has finished, anyone within a club is then out of their bubble.
“That means you can meet face to face with people from other clubs.
“I think some talks have taken place, but the bulk will [occur later] and the better time to do it is when this weekend is done.”
Thankfully for Tottenham their process of finding a new manager has been made easier as Ryan Mason has done a solid job in interim charge.

Mason has conducted himself well in interviews, has Spurs playing attacking football, and results have been credible.
Tottenham have won three of the four Premier League matches that he has taken charge of, which has bought Daniel Levy and Steve Hitchen more time.
Tottenham will need to progress their search quickly after the season finishes though, as Spurs will surely want their new manager in place as soon as possible, to give him as much time as possible to prepare for next campaign.
