Ian Wright says Mohamed Salah is ‘back’ and performing for Liverpool again following their 7-0 demolition of rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions (06/03/23 at 2:20 pm).
The Highbury hero spoke about how Salah humiliated Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez when he assisted Cody Gakpo for Liverpool’s second goal of the game.
Even though Martinez has earned high praise for his performances this season, the 2022 World Cup winner was turned inside and out by Salah, before tasting the grass and falling on the floor as the Egypt star fed a brilliant ball to Gakpo, who dinked David de Gea in between the sticks.

It was one of many magical moments produced by Jurgen Klopp’s men as they created history against their old rivals.
That’s a scoreline that reverberated across the world and it’s one that will be written into history books and spoken about in decades and decades to come.
Salah’s name will be spoken about fondly because he had a hand in four goals and Wright thinks the ‘sharpness’ and ‘quick’ nature to his game has now returned.
“Mo Salah, especially what I saw him doing to Lisandro Martinez, who I really do like as a central defender,” said Wright.
“He is back. He is back to Mo Salah. He was sharp. He was quick. He was passing people. He was doing all the stuff and you are thinking to yourself ‘this Liverpool, somebody has lit the flame again. They have found it’.”

NEVER WRITE OFF SALAH
Even during a season where the 30-year-old has been questioned, he still has 11 Premier League goals to his name.
There is every chance the £35 million star (Sky Sports) can hit the 20 mark again before the season ends and it would be some feat for a player that has been criticised this term.
But it isn’t a surprise that his form has returned at the same time Liverpool have found some confidence and form at the back.
That’s five clean sheets on the bounce for the Reds and their quest to secure a top-four finish is well and truly back on.
