Liverpool fans seem a little edgy as their summer transfer window gets off to a slow start and the new Premier League campaign is less than a month away.
Around six weeks remain before the 2024 summer transfer window slams shut, so there is no need to panic just yet.
It also needs to be added that Euro 2024 and Copa America put the brakes on transfer business and you now expect things to accelerate.
Arne Slot is the new man in the Liverpool dugout and he has already begun work, with the Reds playing Real Betis in a pre-season friendly on July 27, before games against Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla.
That’s when the Slot era will officially kick off because they begin their campaign away at newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
No Upcoming Fixtures
But you have to question, who will be lining up for Liverpool at Portman Road?
In some cases, with several players featuring in summer tournaments, you are going to get late arrivals and players missing large chunks of pre-season.
One of them includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, who played a bit-part role as England were beaten by Spain in the final of Euro 2024.

Either way, ‘Razor’ Ruddock stated that he simply can’t see Alexander-Arnold leaving for Carlo Ancelotti’s Champions League winners.

“I couldn’t see that happening. I can’t see that.”

One thing is for sure, the Anfield academy product certainly suits a club like Madrid because he likes nothing but to get forward and express himself.

The issue facing Liverpool is that Trent has 12 months remaining on a new contract, so he could easily head for the exit door on a free next summer.
If that’s the case, then are they better off cashing in on him now? It wouldn’t be the ideal start for Slot, but it’s something they might have to consider.
