Vitor Pereira has shared that Farhad Moshiri told him to ‘just wait’ and that he is ‘grateful’ for him taking part in an interview for the vacant Everton manager’s job, as he told Sky Sports.
The Portuguese coach did a live interview on Sky talking about the Everton job, the interview process and the backlash in him possibly getting the job from supporters.
It was quite staggering because, in the crazy world of football, not many, if anyone, has ever done such a thing.
There are managers who have talked or been asked about other jobs, but that’s when they are already in a job, i.e. Wayne Rooney at Derby.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if anyone before, who is a free agent, has decided to go on national TV and talk about a job that hasn’t been filled yet.
But it just sums up the mess Everton are in and there are those cynics who are questioning whether Moshiri himself played a part in Pereira taking the interview, so he could appease the angry Toffee supporters.
Nonetheless, when talking about his interview process, Pereira shared that Moshiri and Bill Kenwright were present asking him questions, as he shared what they told him.
“What I felt from the club, I think they were enthusiastic [about] what I proposed to them,” said Pereira.
“What we talked [about] in the interviews is something we keep with us but what I can say to you is that the feedback from the interviews was good feedback.
“They have other candidates. This is a time for decisions – No, just to wait for the decision and be calm, and that they are grateful for the interviews and that’s all.”
Simply put, the Everton fans don’t trust those in the Goodison Park boardroom and who can blame them after they appointed Rafa Benitez.

Everton are hovering above the relegation zone and many are questioning whether they are in a battle.
