Okay this is getting a bit ridiculous for Liverpool now.
The Reds are enduring one hell of an injury crisis this season – and it might be getting worse.
Liverpool lost 3-1 away to Leicester City today but on the morning of the game, The Telegraph reported that Fabinho is now a big doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Leipzig and the visit of Everton in the Merseyside derby next week.
To put that into perspective, the big Brazilian midfielder has proven himself a brilliant centre-back this season in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, neither of whom have played since October.
And with Joel Matip also out, Liverpool’s centre-back options are a combination of inexperienced youngsters and Jordan Henderson who, despite his best efforts, is far better in midfield.
It’s a very serious situation for Jurgen Klopp’s side and you do fear for them – not only against Leipzig, but for the rest of the Premier League season.
Their goal is now without a shadow of a doubt finishing in the top four but even that might be a test.
