Tottenham Hotspur certainly had a good 2015-16 season. However, in hindsight, they will look back and wonder how it did not develop into more.
They were surpassed by Arsenal in the Premier League and failed to win any silverware – on paper, it doesn’t look as good as everyone knows it was.

One of the key reasons behind this dip in form toward the end of the season was Spurs’ lack in depth.
This was a situation that the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust took to the Tottenham board in a meeting this week.

In the official minutes from the meeting it was made clear that Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy had confirmed to the Trust that the club would be looking to strengthen the squad as soon as possible. As reported on thstofficial.com this is what Levy stated:
“DL (Levy) said the intention is to strengthen the squad and to do so as early as possible; it is, though, not always possible to complete deals well ahead of the transfer deadline. It is likely to be a tougher transfer window than ever given the extra finance available to all clubs, due to the new TV deal. It was felt the Euro’s had an impact on timings but DL (Levy) stressed this was the same for all clubs.”
Levy was also pressed on whether the club would be selling any players to help fund their new stadium build. Again, the chairman was positive:
“DL (Levy) assured that no player will be sold to fund the stadium.”

Spurs certainly need to ensure they bring in players in some key positions. They lacked depth out wide, in central midfield and, in particular, up front in 2015-16 and if Spurs are to challenge for the title again Levy will need to navigate this summer shrewdly.
