Chris Sutton has questioned what Kieran Tierney has done wrong amid his expected loan move to Real Sociedad.

The 26-year-old, since the start of last season, has become a bit-part player under Mikel Arteta, but he hasn’t been helped by the fact that he has spent some time in the treatment room.

But now Arsenal are going to make that call to let Kieran Tierney move to La Liga side Real Sociedad and Sutton asked ‘what has he done wrong?’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

During Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against ten-man Fulham yesterday, it was Jakub Kiwior who started at left-back, with Jurrien Timber out with a long-term injury and Alex Zinchenko on the bench after returning from injury.

It has previously been talked about how Tierney can’t play that inverted fullback role, but nor can Ben White, yet he has been a regular starter since last season.

Either way, Sutton shared his thoughts on Kiwior playing at left-back and Tierney now heading to Spain

“Kiwior at left-back, strange to be at left-back,” said Sutton. “Kieran Tierney going to Sociedad on loan, what has he done wrong?”

Arteta’s changes to Arsenal’s backline

Some would argue that he is making too many changes, with Thomas Partey playing at right-back, Gabriel being dropped, Kiwior coming in on the left and Ben White partnering William Saliba.

The call to drop Gabriel, who hasn’t started a Premier League game this term, has caused a bit of a stir, with Ian Wright sharing his thoughts.

Either way, there are some who feel that Arteta is making too many changes at the back and it’s disrupting the team that did ever so well for most parts of last season.
