GK: Nigel Martyn
Nigel Martyn remained at Everton for the rest of his career before injury forced him to retire in 2006.
Tony Hibbert
RB: Tony Hibbert
One club man Tony Hibbert remained with the Toffees until 2016, having made 265 Premier League appearances during his career.
CB: Alan Stubbs
Alan Stubbs would enjoy two spells with Everton either side of a brief stint with Sunderland. He would leave Goodison Park for good in 2008, making a handful of appearances for Derby before retiring. He has managed both Hibernian and Rotherham.
David Weir
CB: David Weir
David Weir stayed with Everton until 2007, and somehow managed to continue playing for another five years after arriving at Rangers at the age of 36. He would enjoy plenty of success at Ibrox, before becoming manager at Sheffield United. He has since been the assistant at Brentford, the Gers and Nottingham Forest.
LB: Steve Watson
Steve Watson remained on Merseyside until 2005 subsequently joining West Brom and spending two years at Sheffield Wednesday before hanging up his boots in 2009.
RM: James McFadden
Like Stubbs, James McFadden enjoyed two spells with Everton. He initially left in 2008 before returning after three years at Birmingham. He would finish his career with stints at Sunderland and St Johnstone as well as two spells at Motherwell.
Lee Carsley
CM: Lee Carsley
Lee Carsley stayed at Everton until 2008, spending two years at Birmingham and one final season at Coventry. After a handful of caretaker manager roles, he endured a brief and unsuccessful stint as Brentford boss in 2015.
CM: Joseph Yobo
Joseph Yobo spent around a decade on the Toffees’ books before his departure in 2012. His final two years with the club were spent on loan at Fenerbahce – who he joined permanently in 2012. A loan spell at Norwich in 2014 signalled the end of his career.
LM: Leon Osman
After more than 350 Premier League appearances, Leon Osman left Everton in 2016. He is yet to find another club despite his years of tremendous service.

ST: Tomasz Radzinski
Like Rooney, Tomasz Radzinski would also leave Everton in 2004. He left for Fulham and stayed at Craven Cottage for three years, finishing his career with spells in Greece and Belgium.
