Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Fabian Schar talking about the difference in training under Eddie Howe.

What’s the story?

Well, when watching the video of Schar, Newcastle fans spotted bruising around the £3m man’s left eye.

One way or another, the Switzerland international has picked up a black eye, and it had the supporters speculating.

One fan even posted a photo of Howe’s assistant, Jason Tindall, with a crazed look on his face at Little Benton, before jokingly accusing him.

Another supporter claimed the players must really be getting stuck in under Howe, after seeing Schar’s black eye.

Nevertheless, the 29-year-old sounds happy with the departure of Steve Bruce, a man who had only given him two Premier League starts this season.

As quoted by the Chronicle, Schar said: “I am happy for the new chapter. I have just had two training sessions but all I can say is it has been amazing. You can see what hard working guys they are and how they want to get the best out of each player.

“We’re happy to have them here now. We’re all happy to have something new.”

Eddie Howe must bring Fabian Schar back into Newcastle XI

At one point, Schar was among the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

Calciomercato even claimed that AC Milan were interested in signing him back in 2019.

Now, with Howe at the helm, the Magpies must find a way to bring Schar back into the fold – he’s too good to leave out, in our view.

The positive thing for Newcastle now is that everyone has a clean slate under Howe, so the entire squad should be motivated to impress.

That is exactly what the Magpies need if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

For now, let’s see what the Newcastle fans on Twitter have been saying about Schar’s black eye…
