Some Manchester United fans on Twitter have mocked Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela after he was sent off against Arsenal in the North London derby.

Lamela scored a wonderful goal for Tottenham against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The Argentina international, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, came off the bench and scored a ‘rabona’ goal.

It is one of the best goals in English football and will be talked about for years to come. However, the 29-year-old was sent off in the second half after picking up two yellow cards.

For the second yellow card, it seemed that Lamela was just trying to protect the ball, but the Argentina international did catch Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney.

Some United fans have mocked Lamela on Twitter for getting sent off, reminding him of what happened with Anthony Martial earlier this season.

In October 2020, United striker Martial was shown a straight card for striking Lamela in the face, as reported by The London Evening Standard at the time.

It did appear that the Spurs star made a lot more of it than he should have, and some United fans have now hit back at Lamela, as shown below.
