Queens Park Rangers are said to be considering appointing Gary Rowett as manager following the departure of Steve McClaren.

Gary Rowett called the Queens Park Rangers job an ‘excellent’ one, last time he was linked with the post.
Rowett has been a long-term target of QPR, and was originally linked with London side back in 2015.
At that time Rowett was in charge of Birmingham City, and he played down the rumours.
But the 45-year-old boss’s old comments could well suggest that the job at QPR would appeal.
“They’re two excellent jobs with ex-Premier League sides, but I’m extremely focussed on what we’re trying to do at Birmingham City,” he said to TalkSPORT.
“I actually think we’ve underperformed a little bit over the last three or four weeks, so I’m just focussed on improving here.”

Rowett’s standing has dipped since his time at Birmingham, after difficult spells with both Derby County and Stoke City more recently.
QPR are said to be considering giving Rowett another chance to make amends though.
If Rowett does come in at QPR, he will take over with the Hoops in 17th place in the Championship table.
