- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Fulham are standing firm on their Joao Palhinha valuation amid continued interest from Bayern Munich.
We reported last month that Bayern Munich were confident of getting a deal over the line for Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha, who has been key for Portugal at Euro 2024.
Palhinha was close to a move to Bayern last summer after Ryan Gravenberch’s transfer to Liverpool but a deal for the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder never materialised.
Under new manager Vincent Kompany, who managed Burnley last season, the Bavarian giants are understood to still be keen on Palhinha and sources have told HITC that the feeling is mutual.

Palhinha makes feelings clear over Bayern move this summer
Sources have told HITC that the Portuguese midfielder has made it clear to Fulham’s hierarchy that a move to Bavaria is what he wants this summer.
HITC understands that Fulham are standing firm over their valuation of Palhinha and are determined not to drop under £50million for the Portuguese star.
Bayern are understood to have already made three bids for the Portuguese star with the latest being around £40 million, which is still £10 million short of the Cottagers valuation of the midfielder, who has been key for Marco Silva’s side for multiple seasons.
Last season for the West London club, Palhinha featured in 33 Premier League games, scoring four goals and providing one assist in England’s top divison.
Following Portugual’s win over Slovenia on penalties, thanks to a magnificent performance from FC Porto’s Diogo Costa, Palhinha was awarded a 7/10 by outlet A Bola who described the 28-year-old’s performance as ‘effective and simple’.
Palhinha’s move to Bayern not progressing
HITC understands talks have continued between the two clubs, but a deal is not thought to be close at this moment in time.
For Bayern, the German side are currently busy in the market at present as they are also continuing talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a deal for Jonathan Tah.
Tah was superb for Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen last season as the German side romped to the Bundesliga title as they completed an entire league campaign unbeaten but the defender could be set for a move to Munich this summer.
