MLS franchise Toronto FC are reportedly close to signing both Lorenzo Insigne and Andrea Belotti, two players who have been linked to Tottenham.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian duo are both in talks to join the Ontario-based giants. As per the report, Insigne is close to agreeing to a deal with Toronto, whilst Belotti remains in discussions.

Whilst the transfers are yet to be finalised, it will be a massive coup for both MLS and Toronto if the Canadian side were to sign Insigne and Belotti, who both won Euro 2020 with Italy this summer.

As well as a massive boost to the reputation of MLS, the duo joining Toronto will be a huge blow for many clubs around Europe, but specifically, Tottenham, who were linked with both players heading into January.

As reported by Il Processo via Area Napoli, Fabio Paratici was eager to sign Insigne, whilst per Football Italia claim that Spurs also wanted to sign Belotti in 2022.

Indeed, it now looks like Spurs will lose on the Italian internationals to Toronto in what could be one of the biggest swoops in the history of MLS. And as you can expect, fans of the Canadian side are going crazy about the news.

Toronto have seen some big names join the club in recent years from Sebastian Giovinco and Jermain Defoe, however, Insigne and Belotti are on another level.
