Unfortunately for Liverpool, Erling Haaland is seemingly available this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side host Manchester City on Sunday evening in what is a must-win game for the hosts.

Remember, Liverpool are already 14 points behind top-of-the-table Arsenal and going 16 adrift of City – if Pep Guardiola’s side win – would effectively kill off any chances that the Reds have of winning the Premier League title.

The Anfield outfit have only won two of their first eight Premier League games this season, and even one of those was a last-minute winner from Fabio Carvalho against Newcastle.

It goes without saying that Liverpool have a much better chance of beating City if Haaland isn’t playing but, unfortunately for them, he’s fit.

The Norway international has already hit the 20-goal barrier for the Citizens since joining from Borussia Dortmund this past summer.

He missed the midweek Champions League clash with Copenhagen after Guardiola elected to keep him on the bench, prompting suggestions he had a knock of some description.

However, the player is indeed fighting fit and here’s what he posted on Instagram ahead of facing Liverpool on Merseyside.

Klopp’s troops reminded everyone what a stunning goalscoring team they can be on Wednesday by winning 7-1 away to Rangers, with out-of-form Mohamed Salah scoring a hat-trick.

If we’re talking influence, Salah can be just as big for Liverpool on Sunday as Haaland is for the Sky Blues, despite contrasting fortunes this season.

But with the Egypt international showing his best last night, hopefully that whets his appetite to do the same against City.
