Donovan Wilson is arguably Wolves’ most exciting young player – but could be knocked down the pecking order by West Brom youngster Tyler Roberts.

If West Brom cannot keep hold of Tyler Roberts, there are plenty of clubs out there willing to give the young striker a home.
And with Roberts rejecting a new five-year contract at The Hawthorns, the Wales Under-21 forward will be a free-agent come the summer – meaning whoever wins the race for Roberts will be pulling off quite the coup.

Though if Wolves manage to lure the 18-year-old to Molineux, you wonder what this means for Donovan Wilson.
The 20-year-old, who signed for Wolves from Bristol Rovers in 2015, is one of the most highly-rated young goalscorers outside of the Premier League. Wilson scored an impressive 13 times in 20 appearances for the club’s Under-23s last season – and netted his first ever senior goal off the bench in August’s 2-0 EFL Cup win away at Southampton.
Wilson’s hopes of forcing his way into Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team plans, however, were made all the more difficult when the Midland giants swooped to sign former Norwich City prospect Benny Ashley-Seal last month.

The teenage striker will now compete with Wilson in Wolves Under-23 squad.
And the addition of Roberts, who has proven himself in the professional game with four goals in eight starts on loan at League One Walsall, will put another obstacle in Wilson’s path.
On the other hand, however, Leo Bonatini is Wolves’ only natural centre-forward. So it perhaps makes sense for Wolves to expand their options.
