West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for the 28-year-old.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion are ready to try again for Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza in January after failing with a £10.6million move in the summer, but what could that mean for loanee Grzegorz Krychowiak?
The Polish international was a big-name arrival at The Hawthorns and his early performances suggested the Baggies had bagged a gem.
However, the 27-year-old has been unable to prevent the side from losing their last three matches and, perhaps most telling of all, West Brom have not won a league game with Krychowiak in the starting line-up.
It is unfair to heap the blame on one player, especially when he has shown glimpses of his undeniable quality. However the prospect of another holding midfielder arriving at West Brom in less than two months does not bode well for the player on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis clearly wanted Souza at the club before the last transfer window slammed shut, and if he can get a potentially bargain deal over the line next time round, it could give West Brom the additional steel they need to kick on
Like Krychowiak, Souza has plenty of experience but, unlike the Pole, the Brazilian may actually be Pulis’s first choice for the crucial position.
