Is Cuco Martina on borrowed time at Everton following Sam Allardyce’s update on Seamus Coleman?

Sam Allardyce told Everton’s annual meeting on Wednesday that Seamus Coleman is back in training.
The Irish right-back has been missing for 10 months following a double leg break on international duty, but Allardyce confirmed he is closing in on a return.
It’s great news for Everton and indeed Coleman, but it’s not great news for one Toffees signing: Cuco Martina.

The former Southampton right-back will surely struggle to get a game under Allardyce when Coleman is fully fit again.
Jonjoe Kenny has impressed on the right-hand side in his absence, but the Everton boss could and should move the youngster across to left-back when Coleman returns.

That switch would see Martina relegated to the bench and Leighton Baines’s return would push him even further down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
The 28-year-old, a Bosman signing from Southampton, hasn’t done horrendously bad for the Toffees on either flank, but he hasn’t done brilliant either and the return of two tried-and-tested figures will probably render him as unimportant.
