Gabby Agbonlahor still isn’t sure what Kai Havertz brings to the table for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal following their 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.
Playing in a more central role in the middle of the park, Mikel Arteta is using the former Chelsea man a lot differently than what he used to do at Stamford Bridge.
But, against Palace, former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor was seemingly puzzled by Kai Havertz’s performance for Arsenal, as he posted on Twitter.
The 24-year-old played the entire game against Palace, just like he did during the opening-day win against Nottingham Forest and the Community Shield win over Manchester City, although, he played as a centre-forward during that match.
Either way, the German international has divided opinion following his big-money transfer to Arsenal this summer.
Even before he kicked a ball, he was being labelled a ‘flop’, as Agbonlahor sent the following message after the Palace win.

‘What does Havertz do? Asking for a friend,” said Agbonlahor.
Havertz will prove people wrong
The issue with players making big money transfers is social media is the toilet of analysis and judgement.
After two games, you are expected to move heaven and earth, and if you haven’t, then you are deemed a failure.
Arsenal are two wins from two, or three if you include the Community Shield, Havertz has started all three matches, so the £331k-a-week star (GiveMeSport), Arteta and the team must be doing something very right.
