The Everton defender could lose his place in the team.

Everton could be set to make a further addition to their squad by bringing in defender Eliaquim Mangala from Manchester City.
The centre-back has made nine Premier League appearances for City this season but has been pushed down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.
As reported by Sky Sports, Everton are confident of signing Mangala on loan until the end of the season.

Bringing in the Frenchman would be a wise move, but it could have negative consequences for an existing member of the Everton squad in Ashley Williams.
There is already much competition for places at the heart of the Everton defence, with Williams, Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka and Mason Holgate all at the club, as well as Ramiro Funes Mori, who is closing in on a return from injury.

If Mangala does join on a temporary basis then Williams could be one of the players to suffer as he could find it difficult to start regularly.
After struggling at the start of the season, Williams showed some signs of improvement following the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager but has since had some difficult moments and it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if he was dropped for Mangala.
