Rangers fans have been left confused by the club statement on the managerial situation at Ibrox.

Rangers released a club statement last night addressing the managerial situation at Ibrox.
The statement came after Derek McInnes snubbed the chance to move to Rangers from Aberdeen, committing his immediate future to the Dons.
It left Rangers stuck still seeking to replace Pedro Caixinha six weeks on from his sacking, and continuing to lean on caretaker boss Graeme Murty.

Rangers’ statement explained their stance, insisting that they felt none of the managers who applied for the job were the right fit, and had set their sights on McInnes.
The most puzzling part of a statement which should have been designed to be as clear as possible over the situation was the use of the word ‘concomitant’, which would have had even the most educated of supporters scrambling for their dictionaries.
The statement read: “We were subsequently made aware by Aberdeen’s statement that, at this stage in his career, it would be best for him to remain in his current post.
“We endorse that position because moving to a massive club like Rangers is a big step with concomitant risk. We continue to consider candidates but will only appoint someone in whom we have full confidence and who feels he is ready for the job.”

For the record… the dictionary.com definition of ‘concomitant’ reads: “existing or occurring with something else, often in a lesser way; accompanying; concurrent: an event and its concomitant circumstances. noun. 2. a concomitant quality, circumstance, or thing.”
Still none the wiser? You are not alone. Rangers fans took to Twitter to express their puzzlement at the statement… and of course Celtic fans had to have their say too.
