Mark Lawrenson has given his verdict on Liverpool‘s Curtis Jones.
According to the former BBC pundit, Jones really hasn’t kicked on at the Reds under Jurgen Klopp.
The Liverpool academy product burst on to the scene a number of years ago with a worldie to beat Everton in an FA Cup encounter.
But according to Lawrenson, Jones hasn’t done a great deal with his ability since then.
He told Off the Ball in Ireland: “Curtis Jones, too many touches when he’s got the opportunity to play. He came on with that goal against Arsenal [Everton] in the FA Cup two or three years ago and he’s not really kicked on, so what do you do?”

It’s a fair criticism by Lawrenson if you look at certain statistics.
However, it’s decidely unfair if you consider the fact – and it is a fact – that Jones has been hampered by injury quite a lot.
According to Transfermarkt, Jones has missed over 100 days through injury.
And remembering the fact that he’s still only 21, and that these are key years for his ongoing development, well that’s obviously important, too.
Jones, by his own admission probably, will want to be a Liverpool great and although he hasn’t kicked on, time is definitely on his side.
Question is, will injuries go in his favour, too?
