West Bromwich Albion are currently in a whole world of trouble.

Baggies boss Alan Pardew addressed the media ahead of his side’s vitally important trip to Watford in the Premier League today, and shared how he reacted following Chris Brunt’s outburst in the aftermath of last weekend’s defeat to Huddersfield Town, as quoted by the Belfast Telegraph.

West Brom are currently marooned at the bottom of the Premier League table, seven points adrift of safety, having won just three league games all season long.

The Black Country outfit’s next five games are all winnable on paper, however, and they will be looking to string together a positive set of results, in an attempt to climb their way towards safety.

Pardew spoke to reporters yesterday, and shared how he reacted when Brunt, as well as other senior figures at the club, spoke out in the dressing room after their bitterly disappointing defeat to the Terriers, as quoted by the Belfast Telegraph:

“I’m not sure if our fans will be disappointed in that. What do they expect us to do? Not have words? Not have conflict in the dressing room after a performance like that? It came out about Brunty but it was not just Brunty. The captain (Jonny Evans) and everybody else, myself and John Carver all had opinions on why that performance was such. I’d be foolish and not a good manager if I didn’t listen to those comments.”

If West Brom fail to win at Vicarage Road today, things really will look bleak for their survival hopes, and Pardew will be hoping that last weekend’s heated dressing room exchange will fire his players up against Javi Gracia’s men today.
