Liverpool are holding firm over Ryan Kent amid interest from Rangers.

Rangers have not yet made any progress over reported transfer target Ryan Kent.
Sky Sports report Kent wants a return to Rangers, where he spent last season on loan.
Liverpool have held out for a £7 million fee and do not intend on letting him go for less.
Meanwhile Kent is nowhere near Liverpool’s first team, and has not even had a look in for their under-23 side.
This leaves Kent in a very tough situation, with the transfer window ticking down across Europe.
Kent’s own prospects this season are now at risk, and Liverpool need to ask themselves ‘what do we have to gain out of this situation’?

The answer appears to all be down to money, and that is not a bad or immoral stance.
Liverpool have paid Kent’s wages for the past four years and have taken time and effort to try and develop him.
Why should they bow to Kent’s preference, if Rangers are not willing to meet their asking price?
Interest from elsewhere suggests why Liverpool are being so determined over this.
Sky Sports report clubs in France and Belgium have both expressed interest in Kent.
Earlier in the month, Leeds United were keen, with the Daily Record reporting talks were held, although they too did not meet Liverpool’s asking price.
That’s at least four clubs, Rangers, Leeds, and a minimum of one each in France and Belgium, who have expressed interest in Kent.
This is the answer when it comes to Liverpool being so determined to get maximum value.
It appears to be out of confidence, that sooner or later, now or in January, one team will decide to pay it, and the Reds can afford to wait.
