Guy Branston has suggested to BBC Sport (19:36) that Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe did not play well against Rotherham United.

Leeds returned to winning ways in the Championship with a 2-1 victory over Rotherham away from home at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday evening.

Roofe, who can operate as a winger or as a striker, started the match and played for 73 minutes.

Former Rotherham defender Branston was not impressed with the performance of the 23-year-old.

Branston also suggested that Leeds did not play well, and that Rotherham made the Whites look good.

“That wasn’t an unbelievable Leeds side – it was a Leeds side being quite adventurous, breaking down occasionally,” the 37-year-old told BBC Sport (19:36).

“It wasn’t the best Leeds side we’ve ever seen. O’Kane had an off day but they made him look good.

“Even Roofe – he was clapped off, but what has he actually done? Rotherham made them look good.”

Visitors Leeds had 75% of the possession, took 13 shots of which only three were on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.

Garry Monk’s side are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 18 matches.
