Ahead of Arsenal’s north London derby showdown against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, one of the big talking points has been the goalkeepers.
David Raya dethroned Aaron Ramsdale from the starting spot last week as Arsenal beat Everton at Goodison Park, with Mikel Arteta sticking with his summer loan signing for the Champions League clash against PSV in midweek – that resulted in a huge argument between Jamie Carragher and Peter Schmeichel.
Well, it seems as though David Raya might keep his place in the XI, if his Instagram story is anything to go by.
Usually, in the build-up to matches, players will post images of themselves on their socials, whilst also advertising the game ahead.
Normally, that hints towards that individual starting.
Well, given that David Raya has done just that on Sunday morning, and as of yet, there is nothing from Aaron Ramsdale, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Spanish star does keep his place in the XI.
David Raya to start against Tottenham?

Biggest test of Aaron Ramsdale’s career
If Raya does indeed start against Spurs, then it’s pretty clear that he is the new number one.
Mikel Arteta has done this before, ironically enough, to bring Aaron Ramsdale into the XI, he pushed Bernd Leno, now at Fulham, to the bench.
At the time, the German hadn’t done much wrong, but a ruthless call needed to be made, and in truth, it paid off.
Well, it’s a sense of Deja Vu for Ramsdale, who hasn’t put a foot wrong, it’s just a case of Arteta making it clear that he will do whatever it takes to push the team towards the Premier League title.
