Newcastle United were linked with a move for Manchester City winger Javairo Dilrosun over the weekend.

Dilrosun is a highly-rated winger who has featured for the Netherlands’ under-19 side and could be available for a bargain fee if he does not agree a new deal with the Cityzens, with The Sun reporting that any English side could end up paying around £1 million for his signature.

The 19-year-old is also being chased by Benfica, Swansea City and Derby County, according to The Sun, so Newcastle certainly face a tough task trying to convince the youngster to move to St James’ Park.
But if Rafa Benitez does manage it, it would surely leave a giant question mark over the future of Rolando Aarons as he continues to try and rebuild his career after a torrid time with injuries.
Aarons is currently on loan at Serie A side Verona, but he has only managed two league starts for the club and has dropped to the substitutes’ bench for the last three games and only played four minutes across the last two fixtures.

While Aarons deserves a lot of praise for taking a gamble and heading to Italy to try and make a statement to Benitez, his form is probably not giving the Magpies boss much to think about ahead of his return to Newcastle in the summer.
Therefore, as Aarons was already struggling to get into the side, you would have to think that Newcastle completing a deal for Dilrosun would have to leave 22-year-old considering his future with the Magpies as it would appear that his chances of game-time could become even slimmer upon his return.
