West Ham United are said to be interested in appointing Carlo Ancelotti.

Andy Carroll may be the biggest winner if Carlo Ancelotti does become West Ham United’s next manager.

The Sun have suggested that West Ham have an interest in appointing Ancelotti to replace Slaven Bilic, following the Italian boss’s dismissal from Bayern Munich.

And Ancelotti’s past words about West Ham striker Carroll suggest that he rates the forward very highly.

Andy Carroll of West Ham Unted reacts during the Premier League match between Hull City and West Ham United at KCOM Stadium on April 1, 2017 in Hull, England.

“Carroll is a very good striker,” Ancelotti said to goal.com back in 2010, while he was in charge at Chelsea.

“He’s young and has a chance, working hard, to arrive at the same level as Drogba.

“But they are different players. Drogba has more power and ability to score different kinds of goals, while Carroll is good in the air but has to improve.”

Carroll’s career has not hit the heights that Ancelotti predicted, but the Italian may feel that he could get the past of the Hammers’ target-man.

Bilic, himself, has shown faith and patience in Carroll – but the England international has largely been used as a reserve option this year.

If Ancelotti was to take the job at West Ham that could all change though, given the potential the 58-year-old manager once thought Carroll had.

To quieten down speculation that he could be replaced Bilic needs to find the winning formula at West Ham soon.

The Hammers’ next match comes against struggling Swansea City this weekend, and only three points will satisfy the London Stadium crowd.
