Leeds showed plenty of fight at Elland Road earlier today as they came from 3-1 down to beat Bournemouth in the Premier League, and give Jesse Marsch some breathing room.

The euphoria of beating Liverpool at Anfield was quickly forgotten as goals from Marcus Tavernier and Phillip Billing put the Cherries 2-1 up early on in Yorkshire after Rodrigo had opened the scoring, before Dominic Solanke made it 3-1.

Sam Greenwood then scored to make it 3-2, before goals from Liam Cooper and another strike from Crysencio Summerville earned Leeds all three points.

There were boos coming from the Leeds fans at Elland Road at one point, although Bournemouth supporters also made themselves heard with a rather damning chant as they coasted in Yorkshire.

What Bournemouth fans chanted at Leeds

Well, the travelling supporters clearly felt Marsch was at risk of losing his job.

According to the BBC‘s live blog, Bournemouth fans were chanting “sacked in the morning, you’re getting sacked in the morning” towards the American, as his Leeds side struggled yet again at Elland Road before turning it around.

The £80,000-a-week coach had overseen just two wins in the Premier League at Elland Road so far this season before today, with both of those coming in the first two home games of the campaign against Wolves and Chelsea.

Marsch has since drawn to Everton and Aston Villa in Yorkshire, before losing to Arsenal and Fulham, although today’s win over Bournemouth has eased the pressure on him significantly.

With Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle and West Ham up next in the Premier League, Marsch really needed all three points against the Cherries – at the moment, Summerville is keeping him in a job.

Leeds still in a bit of a mess after Bournemouth defeat

Wolves have hired Julen Lopetegui. Aston Villa have appointed Unai Emery. Brighton snapped up Roberto De Zerbi, and it is a mystery as to who Leeds could turn to if Marsch does end up being sacked, despite today’s win.

It is a terrible time to sack a manager, given the lack of realistic options out there. Leeds could turn to Sean Dyche, or Steven Gerrard, while Rafa Benitez is also available, as is Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds could be ambitious and approach Mauricio Pochettino or Thomas Tuchel, although we doubt they have the financial power to afford their wages, and meet their demands in the transfer market.

Hopefully, Marsch continues to pick up points, as there are few alternatives for Leeds.
