Burnley boss Sean Dyche has been installed as second favourite to become the next Aston Villa manager.
Aston Villa are still in the hunt for a new coach after the club sacked Roberto Di Matteo earlier this month, with the Villans 19th in the Championship table.
Steve Bruce, who left Hull City in the summer, is still big favourite to land the job.
One big reason as to why Villa have managed just one win in 11 league games is perhaps because Di Matteo, for whatever reason, could not get striker Ross McCormack scoring regularly.
The 30-year-old has netted two Championship goals in eight games since his division-record £14 million switch from Fulham in the summer.
But if his past comments are anything to go by, then the Scottish hitman is a fan of the Burnley manager and the way his sides play the game.
McCormack, then at Fulham, said to Get West London ahead of meeting the Clarets last November: “They have good players, a good manager and they play good football. But so do we and if we play as well as we did in the first-half we’ll give them a right good game.”
Burnley went on to win that game 3-1, but McCormack scored for the Cottagers.
By virtue of the fact Dyche is managing a Premier League club, it would be odd if he were to abandon what he has built at Turf Moor in favour of the Aston Villa job, but McCormack might not be against working with the 45-year-old.
